Hey guys, you heard it right..
I will share you today on how I have landed my first ever client in Upwork.
My Upwork profile was created years ago, back when it was still under Odesk.
So if I am not mistaken that was around 2009 or 2010.
And I am occasionally opening my profile.
Curious what really is the purpose of that profile.
Been used in applying for freelance job maybe once only.
Why?
Because I really don't understand the platform.
The purpose and how useful this was.
Maybe from that time, I happened to forgot password for almost 6 times.
So seldom logging in that I always forgot the password.
Then when I had a conversation with my cousin last year she mentioned me that she is just working from home.
And she is into "Upwork".
She just told me to search about that in the internet.
Out of curiosity I google it.
And that's it.
When I went to the website of Upwork, I tried logging in and then bingo..
I have an account with them, but as usual, I can't remember my password again.
After updating my password, I then access to my Upwork profile.
Still clueless after on how to land a job on that platform.
I tried searching in google and read different articles but I was still puzzled and confused.
Yes, I can understand but it's just like I'm having different thoughts and ideas for every thing that comes into my mind.
Then I tried searching in Facebook for a free webinar to end my confusions.
I have a feeling that I need to just watch a webinar that would be more easy and helpful to understand than reading different articles from different blog sites.
Thank God on that day, he brought me to the page of Fhmoms wherein Mommy MK will be conducting a free live webinar on 3:00pm, the same day.
And I cannot forgot that day, that was May 4, 2020.
I started watching at 3:00pm and it lasts until almost 8:00pm.
It's kinda long and tiring but I am very much happy that I joined the online webinar.
I have take down notes from every topic that was discussed during that period.
An I was just so lucky also that Mommy MK will be providing free certificate for all those joined that webinar.
It's just a complete package.
All the knowledge and ideas that were shared all for free.
I am just really thankful that I've found that group in Facebook.
After that, I feel that I have more confidence and of course knowledge on how to organized and complete my Upwork profile.
Yes, you've heard me right.
Since I created my profile it's way back time, it was incomplete.
But maybe because I was registered even before Upwork and Odesk merge, I was lucky that I have an existing profile.
So happy because I have read many post in FB that they are having a hard time creating their profile and most of the time they failed to have an approved profile.
While me, incomplete but I have an existing profile.
I have search and tried different techniques to complete my profile.
And then, it's now 100 percent complete as per Upwork.
Only problem now is since I am not actively using it, my profile was already set to private.
But no worries with that, I just requested with their support team to return my profiles visibility into Public.
In less than 24 hours I am so happy that my profile is now visible to everyone.
So happy that I can finally started looking for a job in Upwork.
I am also lucky that my account has existing 60 connects.
Imagine, I have an Upwork profile and then I have existing connects whom I can readily use in applying for jobs.
Anyways, I am eager to have a part time job because of the Covid's Pandemic who happened to paralyzed almost everybody from different industry who have shut downs operation during this time.
When I finally have the courage and confidence, I tried applying to a very simple job with a fixed price of $5.
